Why We Romanticise People We Barely Know

Sometimes we don’t fall for the person.
We fall for the story we create about them.
And suddenly we’ve imagined qualities they haven’t actually shown us yet.
The problem is confusing potential with reality.
Because when we don’t know someone well, our minds fill in the blanks.
And most of the time, we fill them with what we want to see.
