Dumbo aka Nambo – Namibia’s Rising Internet Star

On Saturday 26 July 2025, a young elephant bull took a stroll to a waterhole at Okaukuejo in Etosha National Park. His antics and playfull manner were caught on camera by Namibia Cam.

The young elephant bull, dubbed Nambo by a local tourist, Norbert Fleidl, entertained guests at the waterhole for several minutes. At one point, as can be seen in the video footage below, ‘Nambo’ even sprayed a rhino with water.

Mr Fleidl recounts that ‘Nambo’ walked into the waterhole, stood in the middle, took a bath, and performed his heart out by rolling around, and spraying water up into the air. He even sprayed an Egyptian Goose who ‘dared’ to take a dip, with water.

Young ‘Nambo’ seems to be Namibia’s latest rising internet star, as the waterhole footage has to date, garnered well over 5K views.
