Should social media be banned for children under a certain age?

European Commission president, Ursula von der Leyen, says the EU will implement a bloc-wide social media ban for children saying that “this is not about whether children can access social media. It is about whether and when social media can access our children”. Critics of bans though say that they can be circumvented and that more attention should be focused on regulating the social media companies themselves and holding them accountable for their products.
