todayNovember 4, 2026

Background

The South African National Consumer Commission is recalling 1 896 Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator vehicles over a possible fire risk. The affected vehicles were made available for sale between 2021 and 2025 and may have an electrical fault in the power-steering pump connection, which could cause overheating and potentially lead to a fire. The commission’s Phetho Ntaba has urged Jeep owners to check their vehicle identification numbers on the Jeep website. Affected owners are also being advised to take their vehicles to an authorised Jeep dealership for inspection and repairs, which will be carried out free of charge.
