Hospital caravans to be converted to sub-police stations

todayNovember 4, 2026

Background

Oshana Governor Hofni Iipinge, on behalf of the Oshana Regional Council, officially handed over 13 secondhand caravans from the Ministry of Health’s Oshakati Intermediate Hospital to the Namibian police Force. They are being repurposed to serve as office space and temporary sub-police stations in constituencies across the region that currently lack formal police stations. Iipinge expressed his hope that the caravans will be utilised effectively to expand operational capacity and bring policing services directly closer to the public.
