Some random observations of the United States… so far:
– There are ‘smoke shops’ all over, though I haven’t gone into one (honest!).
– The people around here clearly like their iced tea.
– Everything is sweet.
– or only available in large packs (at least at the Safeway – which still sounds to me like it should be a pharmacy rather than a supermarket).
– I understand the concept of convenience, but pre-sliced fruit in plastic containers seems like taking it a step too far.
– AND do you really need that many different choices of sweetener?
– The bathrooms are clever though, with push button door access for people in wheel chairs, and a ‘StepNpull that should frankly be installed on every door to every bathroom anywhere (and many other doors too).
– BUT, while I’m sure they’re trying to make a point about how much water they save, 3.8l per automatic flush on a urinal seems like too much water.
– the taps also turn the wrong way!
– and I keep on finding myself having to remind myself to walk on the right hand side of the pavement and look the counter-instinctual way for on-coming traffic! Also, I’m sure the van in that picture is the same one I posted on Instagram the other day when we visited the White House and I’ve now seen it everyday since…
