The Classic Countdown

This is a show to make your day, where veteran ex-5FM DJ, Ian F, will select a week and explore the charts from that week in The Classic Countdown. Definitely a show not to miss, with added extras such as interviews with artists, big songs that didn’t make it to the charts as well as a look at the decades preceding the week in focus. The Classic Countdown debuts every week on Friday from 4 – 6pm, and repeats on Sunday from 9 – 11am, as well as on Wednesdays from 10pm to midnight.

Ian F :

With an unbelievable knowledge about music history, artists and the success of songs on the charts, Ian F has honed his skills over many years to become an icon amongst radio DJ’s. Most well known as being one half of the iconic F and Martinengo team on 5FM in South Africa, Ian F has become a household name in radio. When asked what sets him apart on radio, his classic sense of humour shines through when he answers, “usually the frequencies”.
