The City of Windhoek has addressed concerns over the recent electricity disconnection of Petrus Eiseb, stating it was due to unpaid arrears of N$4,300, in line with its Credit Control Policy. The statement issued by the Chief Executive Officer’s office says, Eiseb’s account had been overdue for over 60 days before disconnection, but he later benefited from a N$10,000 debt write-off under the 2024 Debt Write-Off exercise. His electricity was restored after he visited the city to arrange a payment plan for the remaining balance. The municipality urged residents facing financial difficulties to engage with its Credit Control Division for assistance.
