The King Price Christmas Cup Golf Day, held at the prestigious Omeya Golf Course on 30 November 2024, was a monumental success, raising a record-breaking N$64,216.78 for two worthy beneficiaries: 4 Paws and the Have a Heart Namibia Spay and Neuter Project.

The event saw an incredible outpouring of support from golfers, sponsors, and the community, all coming together to raise crucial funds for these two impactful organisations.

4 Paws, a cat sanctuary in Gobabis, dedicated to providing a safe home for abondoned, abused and neglected cats. Founded by Willem Esterhuizen, the sanctuary offers care, shelter and services to help cats in need.

Meanwhile, Have a Heart Namibia, a non-profit organisation plays a pivotal role in reducing the stray animal population across the country by offering free sterilisation services to cats and dogs from low-income households across Namibia. Their work prevents countless unwanted puppies and kittens from being abandoned or subjected to a harsh life on the streets.

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who made this event possible,” said Anne Mans from Have A Heart Namibia, adding, “The generosity shown by our sponsors and participants has made an extraordinary impact. This record-breaking amount will go a long way in supporting the important work being done by 4 Paws and Have a Heart Namibia.”

The event’s success would not have been possible without the contributions of the generous sponsors who made it all come together. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the title sponsor King Price and the co-sponsors Camp Kwando, Computer Kit Namibia, Auas Fencing and Flouring CC, and JTC Namibia. These companies played a critical role in ensuring the day’s success.

Special thanks are also extended to the following companies and individuals who provided auction items and sponsorship contributions: DZ Golf, Clover, The Wine Shop, Desert Wagyu, Desert Meats, Reho Meat Processors, Omeya, Hide & I, Leon Engelbrecht Designs, The Nineteenth Hole, and the generous individuals Victor & Elodie Boschoff, and Elme & Wilmien Van Wyk. Without their unwavering support and contributions, this event would not have reached such impressive heights.
We could not have asked for a better turnout and more dedicated partners to make this event such a massive success,” said Gerbie Van Wyk, one of the key organisers. “From the golfers to the sponsors, every contribution made a difference, and we’re thrilled that this year’s Christmas Cup will have such a positive impact on our beneficiaries.”

The King Price Christmas Cup Golf Day continues to be a much-anticipated event on the Namibian calendar, and the success of this year’s edition promises an even brighter future for the animals supported by 4 Paws and Have a Heart Namibia.
