Some people hate mushrooms, and others LOVE them. Personally, I am in the LOVE group. I can’t get enough of mushrooms, so, when we braai, we almost always do braai mushrooms, you know, those big brown mushrooms that you top up with garlic butter and cheese.
But do you know what goes really, really well with one of those braai mushrooms?
Bacon! When in doubt, add bacon, and garlic, right? You can’t go wrong!
So, I have this little braai mushroom variation where I simply wrap the braai mushrooms in bacon. You pin it at the top with a toothpick, and if you want, you can dip the entire thing in a basting sauce.
This is one of the best side dishes ever.
Wrap your braai mushroom, already stuffed with garlic butter, in streaky bacon, dip it in a basting sauce, and there you go.
It’s perfect as a starter or a side dish.
