Marine experts have stressed that urgent action is needed to repopulate Namibia’s sardine and pilchard stocks as the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources’s moratorium on sardine fishing failed to reach its repopulation target of one million tons by 2025, which led to a three-year extension.
