Bruce Springsteen is one of the most iconic and popular rock artists in the world. He has sold an estimated 130 million records worldwide and has an incredible discography. Commonly referred to as “The Boss”, Springsteen has mostly stuck to his successful formula as far as songs in his repertoire go – with a few exceptions. His latest album “Only The Strong Survive” is one of those. The album features soul covers, and that is perhaps epitomized most through his interpretation of the Commodores’ 1985 classic “Nightshift”, which celebrates soul greats Marvin Gaye and Jackie Wilson, who both died the previous year. It’s a great cover, but somehow seeing the boss in a suit crooning makes me feel like The Boss is now middle management…what do you think of this cover?
