Taylor Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department” is back on top of the Billboard 200, marking its 13th nonconsecutive week at No. 1. Swift’s 11th album, released on April 19, had dominated the chart for 12 weeks before Eminem’s “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)” took over in late July. After a brief stint at No. 4, “Tortured Poets” reclaimed its throne, earning 71,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. for the week ending August 1.
The number 13 holds special significance for Swift, making this achievement particularly noteworthy. This return to the top spot also sees Swift breaking the record for most initial consecutive weeks at No. 1 by a female artist, surpassing Whitney Houston’s 1987 album “Whitney.”
Elsewhere on the Billboard 200, Chappell Roan’s “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess” has climbed to No. 4, while Stray Kids’ “ATE” slipped to No. 6. Morgan Wallen’s “One Thing at a Time” holds the No. 2 spot, followed by Zach Bryan’s “Great American Bar Scene” at No. 3. Billie Eilish’s “Hit Me Hard and Soft” and Charli XCX’s “Brat” also feature in the top 10.
Swift’s consistent chart-topping performance cements her status as a dominant force in the music industry, continuing to captivate audiences worldwide with her latest release.
