In a somber announcement for devoted Prime Circle fans, lead singer Ross Learmonth disclosed his departure from the renowned South African rock band due to “creative differences.” The decision marks the end of an era, as Prime Circle pledges to persist in creating music for its dedicated fan base.

After an illustrious 23-year career, characterised by unforgettable performances and chart-topping hits, Learmonth expressed gratitude for the time spent with the group. Despite citing creative differences as the catalyst for his departure, he acknowledged the incredible journey they shared.

“At this juncture in my life, it’s time for me to move on. All relationships change and evolve, and unfortunately, due to creative differences, Prime Circle and I will no longer be continuing this musical journey together,” Learmonth stated.

While bidding farewell to Prime Circle, Learmonth conveyed his excitement for a new musical adventure, emphasising that Prime Circle would always be his first love. He shared plans for a solo career, including performances scheduled from December to January 2024, collaborating with artists like Jesse Clegg and Majozi.

On social media, fans poured out their support for Learmonth’s solo venture, expressing both love for his past contributions and eagerness for the new chapter. Meanwhile, Prime Circle’s founding member, Marco Gomes, bid Learmonth farewell, promising to introduce a new frontman and share fresh music soon.

“Our music connects our fans globally, forging memories and emotions, going beyond just the five of us. We look forward to sharing new experiences, introducing our new seasoned frontman, and new music with our fans very soon,” Gomes affirmed.

Remaining active band members, including Marco Gomes (bass), Dale Schnettler (drummer), Neil Breytenbach (keyboard), and Dirk Bisschoff (lead guitar), expressed gratitude for the band’s profound impact on their lives over the past 23 years. They highlighted the importance of fan understanding and continued support as Prime Circle embarks on its next chapter.

In an official statement, Prime Circle assured fans that, despite Learmonth’s departure, the band’s energy would persist, evolving into a new and exciting form while maintaining its signature high standard.
