Namibia Set to Welcome Africa’s Best for the 2026 Motocross of African Nations

todayAugust 7, 2026

Background

Windhoek is gearing up to host one of the continent’s biggest motorsport events as the 24th Motocross of African Nations (MXoAN) heads to Namibia from 28 to 30 August 2026.

Sanctioned by FIM Africa, the Motocross of African Nations is Africa’s premier national team motocross championship, bringing together the continent’s top riders to compete not only for individual honours but, more importantly, for national pride.

Hosted by the Namibia Motorsport Federation (NMSF) and organised by the Windhoek Motocross Club (WMXC), this year’s championship will take place at Gallina Motocross Park in Brakwater, just outside Windhoek.

Unlike a traditional motocross event, the MXoAN sees riders representing their countries rather than racing solely as individuals. Every race contributes valuable points towards the Overall Country Team Championship, with the two highest-scoring riders from each nation in every class earning points for their country’s final tally. The nation with the highest overall score will be crowned the 2026 Motocross of African Nations Champion.

Approximately 160 riders are expected to compete across a wide range of championship classes, including MX50, Female MX50, MX65, Female MX65, MX Lites, MX125, MX2, MX1, WMX, Veterans and Masters.

Namibia will welcome riders from across the continent, with confirmed entries from Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa, Kenya, Angola, Uganda and Madagascar, while Senegal is expected to confirm its participation.

The championship plays a significant role in developing motocross across Africa by providing young riders with valuable international competition while strengthening relationships between national motorsport federations.

Fans can look forward to two action-packed days of racing featuring Africa’s best motocross talent, alongside the official Grand Parade, podium ceremonies, food and beverage vendors, and family-friendly entertainment throughout the weekend.

Gallina Motocross Park is easily accessible via the Western Bypass towards Okahandja, with event signage directing spectators from the Brakwater/Gallina turn-off.

Tickets for the 2026 Motocross of African Nations are available online through NamEvents. As an international championship, ticket prices are displayed in US Dollars (USD), with approximate Namibian Dollar values provided for local spectators.

With home advantage and passionate local support behind them, Namibia’s riders will be aiming to make a strong impression when Africa’s finest motocross competitors arrive in Windhoek later this month.
