Man arrested for 80-year- old Walvis Bay resident’s murder

A 44-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the murder of 80-year-old Barbara Ruth Geschke at Walvis Bay.

The body of the diceased was discovered in her home in a pool of blood at Walvis Bay by a neighbor, with open wounds on 16 June.

According to Erongo police spokesperson, senior inspector Judith Shomongula, the suspect Daniel Makie, was apprehended in Kuisebmund and positively linked to the crime.

He appeared in the Walvis Bay Magistrate’s Court on Friday and his case was postponed to 29 October, without bail granted.
