Learning Sustainability in the Heart of the Desert

In Namibia’s vast and beautiful desert landscape, the Namib Desert Environmental Education Trust (NaDEET) is helping people discover how to live more sustainably.

NaDEET is a Namibian non-profit organisation focused on environmental education and practical sustainability. Instead of teaching environmental responsibility only through theory, NaDEET gives participants the chance to experience it first-hand.

At their environmental education centre in the NamibRand Nature Reserve, school groups, students, and community members spend several days learning how their everyday choices affect the environment. Participants cook with solar ovens, learn about water conservation, explore recycling methods, and gain a deeper understanding of Namibia’s fragile desert ecosystem.
