Mr. Tahir Saleh, head of Organizational Affairs at the National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students branch in Anseba Region, said that Students’ Week significantly contributes to identifying, preserving and passing on culture to generations. He added that efforts will be strengthened to this end.

Mr. Tahir made the remarks during Students’ Week programs organized in all administrative areas of the region.

Mr. Tahir said that the program had provided a conducive forum for students to discover and develop their talents, for identifying and encouraging students with special talents, and for deepening students’ understanding of their history and identity.

He indicated that Students’ Week featured individual and group competitions in general knowledge, innovation and creativity, culture and traditions, and dancing, among other activities.

Noting the importance of organizing Students’ Week at the administrative area level to enable the youth to strengthen their organization and understand and preserve their culture and values, Mr. Tahir said that encouraging activities had been carried out in over 50 administrative areas in the region.

Mr. Tahir also called on all concerned institutions and administrations at all levels to enhance their contributions and participation to sustain and strengthen the program.
