The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) has launched the 2025 Electoral Calendar, setting out key dates for the Regional Councils and Local Authorities elections scheduled for November 26, 2025. The launch at ECN headquarters was led by Chairperson Dr Elsie Nghikembua, who described the calendar as “a roadmap guiding our democratic journey”.
-
Supplementary Registration of Voters (SRV): 4–20 August to capture newly eligible voters.
-
Main Polling Day: 26 November for all regional and local authority elections.
-
Vote Counting & Collation: 26–29 November at constituency level, with national results announced on 30 November.
According to the Namibia Press Agency, Dr Nghikembua also revealed that a post-election review of the 2024 General Registration of Voters has been completed and will be published soon. She stressed that only voters registered within their constituencies or local authority areas will be eligible to vote, with no overseas voting permitted.
Building on the calendar launch, the ECN will roll out a nationwide voter education campaign in schools, communities, and clinics to ensure all citizens understand registration requirements and voting procedures. “An informed electorate is the foundation of our democracy,” Dr Nghikembua said.
