Beronice Hans takes over as CEO of Lady Pohamba Private Hospital

Lady Pohamba Private Hospital has appointed former Bank Windhoek Managing Director, Beronice Hans, as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective 1 September 2026.

The appointment was announced in a hospital statement dated 16 July 2026, which also confirmed the appointment of Dr. Marsha Koekemoer, as the hospital’s Clinical Oversight Specialist.

According to the statement, Hans brings extensive leadership experience to the role. She is a Chartered Accountant, attended the Duke University Executive Leadership Programme in 2014, and completed the Advanced Management Programme at the Harvard Business School in 2024.

During her tenure as Managing Director at Bank Windhoek from 2016 to 2025, she was named Best CEO of the Year at the International Banking Magazine Awards in 2021.

Bank Windhoek also received The Banker magazine’s Bank of the Year award in 2019 and 2025 under her leadership.

Hans was further ranked among Africa’s 50 Most Reputable CEOs.

Dr. Koekemoer brings 12 years of clinical and governance experience to her new position, including nine years at Lady Pohamba Private Hospital, where she served as Head of the Emergency Centre and Clinical Governance Lead.

She chaired the hospital’s Clinical Committee for seven years, contributed to COHSASA accreditation compliance, and led the expansion of the hospital’s emergency services as the facility grew from 130 to 293 beds.

She currently serves as Chairperson of the Clinical Committee and now assumes the executive role of Clinical Oversight Specialist.
