Two killed by lightning in Zambezi Region

Two people died on Saturday after being struck by lightning in Zambezi Region. A Zambian man, identified as Musipili Katembo, died on the spot, while Katenda Ednar succumbed to her injuries at home after being discharged from the hospital.

According to the police incident report, Katembo had brought water to three people sitting under a tree when it started to rain. After placing the water down on the ground and turning back, they were all struck by lightning.

No foul play is suspected, and an inquest has been registered for further investigation.
