President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has officiated at the launch of the Dangote Namibia Tank Farm and Regional Pipeline Project in Walvis Bay, marking a new private-sector investment in the country’s fuel storage and distribution infrastructure. The project, developed by Nigeria-based Dangote Industries Limited, includes a fuel storage facility with supporting infrastructure and a 16-kilometre pipeline linking the fuel jetty at the port to the tank farm. The wider regional pipeline plan is expected to extend inland from Walvis Bay towards Otjiwarongo and Rundu, with a proposed connection to Ghanzi in Botswana. Dangote Group founder and chief executive Aliko Dangote addressed the launch, outlining the company’s plans for the development.
