Onandjokwe hospital doctor arrested for rape

A 31-year-old medical doctor from Onandjokwe Hospital in the Oshikoto Region  is expected to appear in court on Monday for allegedly sexually assaulting a fellow man.

The victim is a 26-year-old man, and the incident happened at the doctor’s residence located on the hospital premises.

​According to the police report, it is alleged the  doctor called the complainant on Friday  while he was at work and invited him to Oniipa for the weekend to celebrate the complainant’s new job.

According to the police, the complainant claimed he did not have money for transport, but the doctor offered to pay,  after which the complainant was dropped at the  hospital.

It is alleged that the doctor and the complainant went to the doctor’s room, where the complainant stated that the doctor bought drinks.

“After taking two sips, the complainant noticed something like a pill dissolving in the drink and started  feeling nauseous. The suspect then started touching the complainant private parts and pulled him from the chair onto the bed and removed the complainant’s pants and raped him,”said the  police.

The complainant overpowered the doctor, ran towards the door, but found it locked. He then proceeded to the window, which he punched and managed to break through before fleeing the scene.

Both the victim and  suspect have  undergone  medical assessments and rape kit examinations.
