

The Ministry of Finance has declared that NamPost will become the official provider of cash social grant payments from 1 October 2025. This transition aims to improve access and streamline payment systems nationwide, especially in rural and underserved areas.
Ministry spokesperson Wilson Shikoto explained this move aligns with government efforts to modernise payments and enhance financial inclusion through NamPost’s robust network across the country.
Under the new model, beneficiaries residing within a five-kilometre radius of a NamPost outlet will collect grants there, while those in remote areas will continue to receive funds through NamPost’s mobile outreach services.
In recent years, NamPost has expanded significantly, with assets exceeding N$8.1 billion and launching digital banking platforms as part of its broader transformation agenda
