todayNovember 3, 2026

Background

The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued an urgent warning to the public following reports of fraudsters posing as ministry officials. In a notice from Executive Director Nghidinua Daniel, the ministry revealed that scammers are targeting citizens and foreign nationals seeking work permits, citizenship, and national documents. The impostors demand direct cash payments over the phone, falsely promising to fast-track official processing. Authorities stress that no individual can expedite applications for payment, urging the public to report any suspicious solicitations directly to law enforcement.
